Thanksgiving 101

thanksgiving

This year my mother dear taught me all the how-to's for all the dishes! ~Whew! ~ how the hay did my mum do all that on her own all those years? So mother, a sincere, thanks & props to you! There was some frustration in the kitchen... I think I was a distraction to my mum's concentration to get things right at times... but it all came out just fine.

This year my sisters went to their spouse's families, so it was just my parents, my brother, and me. Taylor got called out on Monday to work in New Mexico, i had low expectations that he would be released and be home for the holiday. Poor Taylor, luckily he and his co-worker found a place to eat for the holiday. I really wanted him to be home...Oh well. I love him soo much, He amazes me, with all he that he does. I admire him so much.

I was finally able to use my GORGEOUS china my mother-in-law graciously let me pick out as one of my wedding gifts! (Thanks Janna!) It was just stunning! I'm very grateful for my husband and my whole family. I'm grateful to the Lord for all he has given me. ♥ ♥ ♥

Dearest Jane.

Jane Austen is delightful. I never get sick of her stories. We all wonder what it would've been like to live in that high society time period. And I wonder why most men in our generation don't try to swoon a women's heart like they should. Jane would faint if she saw how pathetic the male society has become. My hubby did a profound job winning my heart. Cheers to Jane! ♥

I am Marianne Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

Sheralyn is Marianne Dashwood of Sense & Sensibility! Impulsive, romantic, impatient, and perhaps a little too vocal in your honesty. You enjoy romantic poetry and novels. You feel deeply, and love passionately.

My Feline Friend

HURLEY loves climbing in bags, he always gets caught in the handle, therefore he's SUPER KITTY!

i looked in the closet and what did i see? my Siamese kitty looking at me! Hurley is surely a character. He is my little buddy. He keeps me company when my hubby's away working and sleeps next to me. He looks like a Lemur and jumps like a ninja when we play tag! when he was a kitten, he broke some things...i dealt with it, got over it, i mean... what better way to prepare, so when my future children break something, i will ~sigh~ and move on. In my opinion, cats are exquisite!

Be Thankful for the Fridge.

Gratitude, this month its all about the one word. Well, i had something new to really be thankful for... a FRIDGE! my fridge has been broken a whole week, it's supposed to get fixed today. But i'm sure you all can imagine the feeling of having to throw out all your food... and the nasty smell that lingers from the fridge. Eating fast food is getting old real fast. At least i have bread and chips...well that's gettin' real old too. Two things to reflect upon... I MISS MAKING SALADS! and I'M FORCED TO CLEAN THE FRIDGE! which i have procrastinated, at least this incident causes you to do something that has NEEDED to be done! Think about the people who lived without refrigerator's! i have embraced my gratitude for a machine to keep things cold!

Fall Scrapbook Pages

i just finished a page with our pumpkins we carved along with his dad and brother while on our ATV trip! it's very quite detailed. i bought a neat textured black piece of paper, and tried to think of something clever to do with it... then it just sparked in my mind to cut out a tree just like the ones around us... what do ya think?

Fall Frenzy....

I came back from the Coral Pink Sand Dunes. We went with Taylor's Parents and his brother Matt & wife Kate. We had alot of fun!!! Driving home through Kanab, Utah was sooo beautiful! As you can see... it made me really miss having a change of seasons...

Fall is so beautiful. Here in Arizona, we forget how sweet it feels to have a breeze... just the way if feels, tousles the hair, and flows through the windows in the room, It's so delightful. I enjoy it. I'm craving rain though... i miss rain. I can't believe Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks! eek! I'm going to help prepare the food with my mom, and endeavor to learn how to cook "Mr. Gobble" (the turkey!) i love my mom's food, i want to become a good cook like my mom. Thats a goal of mine... i want to someday hear my hubby say, "My wife makes the best...." ~sigh~

I found some lovely recipe Thanksgiving twists in my favorite mag Redbook. (http://www.redbookmag.com/)

It feels so strange not having the big clan of relatives for Thanksgiving. Growing up we had so much fun with all the relatives. Everyone now lives in different states, and we've all grown apart... i really miss it all. Sadly no one really can or wants to travel to one another. I'm sure we all have a drought of somber holidays without our loud crazy relatives.
