PROJECT: Front Room

[This is what Hurley did while we painted.]

I FINALLY PAINTED MY FRONT ROOM iN June! [FAMILY ROOM/KITCHEN IN PROGRESS] I USED VALSPAR PAINT. COLORS: PAWNEE AND PERSIAN DANCE. THANK GOODNESS MY HUBBY TAYLOR WAS HERE TO HELP ME PAINT, HE REACHED ALL THE HARD TO REACH AREAS, I'M SO GLAD HE'S TALL! THANKS HONEY. LOL. MY AIM FOR THIS ROOM WAS TO HAVE A SIMPLE CLASSIC LOOK WITH SOME VINTAGE/CONTEMPORARY DECOR. SINCE THE SOFAS ARE DARK I WANTED A SOFT CREAMY TONE TO REALLY MAKE THE DARK PIECES "POP"! I LOVED HOW IT TURNED OUT! I'M NOW LOOKING FOR CURTAINS [I HAVE ONE MORE DECOR TO ADD TOO!] HERE ARE THE LOVELY RESULTS! [CLICK ON PIC TO ENLARGE]

[Even kitty blends in nicely with the decor/colors! haha]

Enthralled By Captivating Skies

When was the last time you enjoyed the sunset? God is amazing. He paints {creates} beautiful skies and beauty for us to see each day. This is what the sky looked like at 6:40 pm in Surprise, Az. I gazed at the beautiful sun splitting through gray skies and stood in awe of how beautiful God's creations are. In the rush of each day it's easy to forget to pause and see the beauty that is still here around us among the evil that surrounds us. It makes me wonder what can I do to restore and enrich the beauty of earth? We can love others as God loves us. Unconditionally. We can be grateful to live, to breath, to BE. To be children of our Heavenly Father. To be a beautiful part of his creations.

i CHOPPED MY L O C K S!

EVER SINCE I CUT MY LONG LONG HAIR FIVE YEARS AGO, I HAVE NEVER MISSED IT. ONCE I CUT IT, I DID LOTS OF VARIOUS SHORT CUTS. WELL EVER SINCE LAST FALL MY HUBBY BET ME THAT I COULDN'T GROW IT OUT, SO I WAS DETERMINED TO GROW IT AT LEAST JUST BELOW THE SHOULDERS, BUT AS IT GREW, I HATED MY HAIR MORE & MORE & MORE. NO MATTER HOW MUCH I COMPLAINED TAYLOR SAID I WOULD GET USED TO IT. BUT I WARNED HIM MANY TIMES THAT WHEN THE WEATHER TURNS INTO AN OVEN OUTSIDE, I MOST LIKELY WILL CUT IT... SO YES. I CHOPPED MY LOCKS! ~SIGH~ AND I FEEL LIKE ME AGAIN! LA LA LA! SORRY BABE ! HE DOES LOVE IT SHORT. BUT THE WHOLE TIME HE'S KNOWN ME, IT WAS SHORT, SO HE WANTED TO SEE IT LONGER. BUT I JUST CAN'T STYLE IT OR MANAGE IT, IT DRIVES ME CRAZZZY! I'M HAPPY NOW, I DON'T FEEL LIKE A SCARF IS WRAPPED AROUND MY NECK, IT'S EASY, I CAN NOW USE ALL MY FUN HAIR PRODUCTS AGAIN THAT HAVE BEEN HIBERNATING IN MY BATHROOM! LOL. i LUV MY MOD CUT!

Project: Dandelion

So I decided it was time redo my main bathroom colors. I decided on tan/blue/brown tones. I'm very pleased with the turn out. I had canvas boards just waiting to be put to use. So I soaked muslin fabric in boiled water that had lots of tea bags to tint the water so the fabric dyed to a nice beige/tan color. Then stapled it to the canvas. Seriously why not make your own? you could buy one already made with art on it at the store for $30+ bux or more. But I wanted my own unique original flair! I miss doing art. I usually am best at doing pencil sketching & charcoal. So I wanted to try out acrylic painting. I love dandelions. And looked at lots of pictures of them. Then I just collaborated the pics I liked. I actually free-handed the dandelion myself. Which was risky in case I messed up. But i went for it! ~and it turned out quite awesome!!! I LoVe it! What do ya think?! It was exactly what I wanted for the last perfect touch to the finished decor. Oh yeah! (Click to enlarge for detail.)
